The Department of Social Welfare, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, has issued a recruitment notice inviting applications for the positions of Anganwadi Workers and Anganwadi Helpers in the Anganwadi Centres of the POSHAN Project. Interested and eligible candidates are encouraged to apply for these positions. The important details are as follows.
1. Date of commencement for submission of Application Forms: 29.05.2023
2. Last date for submission of Application Forms: 13.08.2023
1. The candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
2. Women candidates in the age group of 18-37 years are eligible to apply.
3. The candidate should be a resident of the electoral ward where the Anganwadi Centre is located. Proof of residence can be established through the candidate's name appearing in the voter list for the ward. In the case of a candidate's name appearing in the voter list along with her parents, an unmarried certificate issued by the concerned Tehsildar must be provided. In case of any dispute regarding residence, a residence proof certifying the ward of residence from the concerned SDM/ACR will be considered.
4. The minimum qualification for Anganwadi Worker is 10+2, and the maximum qualification is graduation. If no 10+2 pass candidate is available in the ward, a 10+2 pass candidate from the adjoining ward can be considered with prior approval of the Mission Director, Mission POSHAN. If a suitable candidate is not available in the adjoining ward, a candidate from the nearest ward within the Panchayat may be considered, subject to the approval of the MD, Mission POSHAN.
5. Selection will be done purely on a merit basis, considering the marks obtained in 10+2. In case of a tie in merit, preference will be given to the candidate with a higher age.
6. Candidates with qualifications higher than graduation will not be considered for the position of Anganwadi Worker.
1. The selection of Helpers will be restricted to the electoral ward where the Anganwadi Centre is located.
2. Women candidates in the age group of 18-37 years are eligible to apply.
3. The candidate must be a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
4. The minimum qualification for Anganwadi Helper is matriculation. If no matriculate candidate is available in the ward, candidates with qualifications not less than 8th standard may be considered.
5. The committee will select the most destitute/needy married woman of the ward as a helper, based on the qualification criteria. If no married candidate is available, an unmarried candidate may be considered.
6. In case an eligible candidate is available within the family of retiring Anganwadi Workers/Helpers, the said candidate will qualify for an additional two percent points.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for document verification along with the original documents and self-attested photocopies of each document as per the advertisement notification. The candidate must possess the prescribed academic qualifications and other documents like the Domicile Certificate on or before the last date of submission of the application form.
The documents required for verification include
a) Marks sheets/Diploma/Degree of the prescribed qualification for the post.
b) Date of Birth/Matriculate Certificate.
c) Domicile Certificate.
d) Unmarried Certificate (where required).
Candidates must also bring two recent passport-sized color photographs.
