In a remarkable display of community spirit and environmental stewardship, the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of GDC Dharmari, under the guidance of Principal Dr. Preetpal Kour, initiated a dedicated cleanliness drive in the Daman area of Dharmari. The focal point of this endeavor was the meticulous cleaning of the vicinity surrounding crucial drinking water sources, ensuring their purity and safety.

Clean drinking water is a fundamental necessity, and its hygiene and sanitation hold paramount significance for the welfare of any community. The NSS unit at GDC Dharmari recognized this and undertook a conscientious effort to safeguard this precious resource.

The cleanliness drive commenced at 11:10 am, as enthusiastic volunteers gathered under the leadership of Prof. Baldev Singh, the NSS Programme Officer at GDC Dharmari, and Prof. Anoj Kumar, the Nodal Officer of Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav. These dedicated volunteers were equipped with the necessary cleaning tools, such as brushes and gloves, to facilitate a thorough cleanup operation around the drinking water source.

Their diligent efforts encompassed the removal of litter, debris, and any pollutants that had accumulated over time in the vicinity of the drinking water source, which was located outside the college campus. This meticulous approach not only ensured the immediate cleanliness of the area but also served as a powerful reminder of the community's role in safeguarding their drinking water sources.

The NSS unit's initiative transcends the boundaries of mere cleanliness; it underscores the importance of civic responsibility and environmental consciousness. By raising awareness among local residents about the vital role they play in preserving these life-sustaining resources, the NSS unit of GDC Dharmari has set a commendable example for community engagement and sustainability.
