The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2024, with candidates achieving record high scores. This year, over 18 lakh students took the exam on May 5, and the results, released on June 4, reflect a significant increase in competition.
Anuj Patel from Maharashtra topped the exam with a perfect score of 720 out of 720. Riya Sharma from Rajasthan and Arjun Kumar from Karnataka secured the second and third positions with scores of 715 and 712 respectively. The cut-off marks for the general category have risen to 145 from last year's 138.
This year's results come after a thorough and stringent checking process by the NTA to ensure accuracy and fairness. The agency implemented multiple layers of verification and used advanced technology to detect and prevent any irregularities.
The counseling process for successful candidates will commence in late June. The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will handle the counseling for the 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, while state authorities will manage the remaining 85%.
Students are advised to keep their documents ready and stay updated with the official schedules on the NTA and MCC websites. The NEET 2024 results highlight the growing competition among aspiring medical students and the increasing importance of thorough preparation and academic excellence.
